As a graphic designer you are either very brave or stupid to challenge a design classic such as the London Underground Map but I was one of those, although not sure which one. This post shows the summary of what was a long, hard but very worthwhile project. My prototype showed the concept of layering up the lines onto separate layers an a pivotal pin would make journey successfully easier and a lot less complex for first time users. A idea I came up with after deciding to enter the Design Factory brief to challenge an everyday design. But enough from me, look at the outcome for yourself …

Hoodie Design
A hoodie design for the same society in the previous post (University of Wolverhampton Christian Union) and again working with the same guy (Phil Wynne) to come up with a simple and thought provoking design that would both catch the eye of passers by and invite conversation
Logo Design
This was a freelance project for a society I am involved with at university, the previous logo has been designed in a hurry so to have a chance to revive the logo was a nice chance. I worked on this with my college Phil Wynne who is an illustration student at the same university
Object Story
Poster and Film guide snapshot from my 1 minute film called ‘Object Story’
The film was purely typographic and picked up on the key words of the narrator telling the story about the photographs in her purse and what they mean to her. The video will follow shortly ...

D&AD Entry
Competition entry for D&AD - Little White Lies (Super 8)
My cover design focused heavily on editing together elements of found imagery to make it my own. I like the strong contrast between the black and the white with hints if colour to draw the eye into the focal point of the cover
Turn the Page
A project looking at reverse promotion, I chose to do ‘Books to replace eReaders’ as I have a passion for print. This was the body copy related to the project set out in another editorial spread, I did a lot of these in my 2nd year of uni
Liason
A second editorial spread with body copy, again the aim of the project being how I arrange large amounts of body copy across several spreads
Logo Design
As part of a branding project I chose to redesign the logo for a local church I was connected to. The first Image is their original logo and the second is my response to a new concept
Food Packaging
A project to design food packaging, my addition was to add dividers into the box so it could also serve a ‘plate’ too. These are the boards containing all the important information related to the project.

Perfect Human
A book based around the topic of ‘Perfect Human’. My approach was based around the perfection of the human face and the template for the perfect face. The content is an essay I found from the internet but cannot remember who it was by now, it was such a long time ago. The layout was however all original work by myself and it is still a piece I enjoy looking at :)

Light and Colour
The 2 images in this post are some of my more polished experiments with photographs and photoshop manipulation related to light. I have found the powerful contrast between of the colour and the simple black and white backgrounds
Self Portrait
This was a self portrait I created during first year. I had recently found a lot of old photos of myself and saw how much I loved the camera then compared to myself today; I guess I grew up. I love pop art and the strength of the colours and combinations used; there is a clear influence from Andy Warhol but I chose to repeat it with much smaller images and many more times. It was refreshing to see such a colourful piece
My second blog
On advice I am starting a second blog so more people have the delight of seeing my work. To begin with my post will be similar as I try and update them all with the successful work from my degree and any other projects that I have undertaken along the way. Expect lots of post with work very soon
